Our eye care practice focuses on you and your visual needs. Some of the services we provide include: complete eye examinations, contact lens fittings, speciality contact lens fitting, optomap photos, dilation, pediatric eye care, diabetic evaluations, glaucoma detection, dry eye treatment, cataract evaluations, aesthetic referrals, and macular degeneration assessment. We also provide emergency eye examinations including red eye treatment, foreign body removal, and flashes and floaters evaluations. Furthermore, we have a strong referral network and can schedule you with an appropriate physician nearby if you need speciality care.

Meet the Team

Dr. Sylvia Choy

Optometrist

Dr. Sylvia Choy is an optometrist who enjoys delivering compassionate eye care for her patients. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry, following undergraduate training in classical piano performance at Binghamton University, where she served as the pianist for the university orchestra. Her clinical training includes ocular disease management at the VA Medical Center in New Haven, CT and low vision rehabilitation at the VA Medical Center in Northport, NY. Inspired by her own early experience with vision correction, Dr. Choy developed a lifelong appreciation for the profound role eyesight plays in confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Dr. Elisabeth Lawson

Optometrist

Dr. Elisabeth J. Lawson is a highly skilled optometrist with over 10 years of experience in family eye care, dry eye, pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease. She is passionate about serving the greater North Georgia community and currently practices at a non-profit eye clinic, when she is not at Market Place Eyecare.

Dr. Lawson grew up in Columbia, SC, and spent much of her youth, with family and friends, enjoying water activities on Lake Murray. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with cum laude honors from UCLA. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry. After practicing in Tennessee and Mississippi, she moved to Athens, Georgia, where she worked as an associate and eventually opened her own optometry practice, Market Place Eyecare.

Dr. Lawson is a committed practitioner and is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, participating in church activities, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling.

Dr. Teresa Hsu

Optometrist

Dr. Teresa Hsu is a dedicated optometrist with more than 20 years of experience providing personalized, comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. She graduated from Emory University and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry. Recognized as one of Newsweek’s Top Eye Doctors in 2023, Dr. Hsu is known for her commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-centered care.

Outside the office, Dr. Hsu enjoys spending time with her two children and learning new things. At Marketplace EyeCare, she is passionate about helping patients achieve their best vision while supporting their long-term eye health.
